What is orientation and how do I attend it?

Orientation is an event that takes place before the start of your course and explains important information about your course, services in the college, college life, and more.

If you are a new first-year student on a full-time course, this will take place the week before classes commence. There are normally 3-4 sessions per day which are broken down into different departments (i.e. Student Support and Services, Academic Operations, Library, Careers, Students' Union). Each department will have a spokesperson who will share significant information about the department and how it applies to your academic journey. This is also a great opportunity to get familiar with the campus and to chat with your fellow classmates before lectures begin!

If you are a new, first-year student on a part-time course, orientation will instead be held online in one session.

Information regarding orientation sessions will be posted at the start of each academic year for first years in the New Students section of our website.
