SEAtS Student User Guide
About SEAtS
Make the most of your academic journey by downloading the SEAtS Student Attendance App to your smartphone! By checking into class regularly, you'll stay on top of your attendance and aligned with your study goals.
The SEAtS app prioritises your privacy — it does not use GPS and therefore does not track your location. It connects via Bluetooth only to beacons placed in college classrooms.

Register Using Your NCI Email Address
Before configuring SEAtS:
- Ensure you are fully registered in your course.
- Ensure you have access to your NCI student email.
SEAtS uses your college timetable and records, so full registration is essential for classes to appear in the app.
Initial App Login & Permissions
When you open the SEAtS app for the first time:
- Enter your NCI student email address and password to login.
- Grant all prompted permissions so the app can function correctly.
Permissions you may be asked for include:
- Bluetooth
- Location Access
- Camera
- Notifications
Note: Enabling these ensures you can receive class reminders and successfully check in.
Lock Screen Notifications
If notifications are configured and enabled on your device (in the notification settings for the SEAtS Mobile App), you may receive alerts on your home screen for scheduled teaching activities. Tapping the notification will take you to the SEAtS app home screen, where you will have the option to check in.
App Navigation
After logging in, you’ll see:
- Home Page: Your profile and attendance summary.
- Calendar: Your scheduled classes — tap to check in.
- More: Settings and logout.
How to Check In
- Ensure Bluetooth is ON on your phone.
- Open the SEAtS app and go to your Calendar.
- Tap Check In for the class.
- The app will search for a nearby classroom beacon.
- Once found, your attendance will be marked.
Students can check in up to 15 minutes before the class begins and up to 30 min after it begins. If you check in more than 15 minutes after the class is scheduled to start you will be considered late. After 30 minutes you are considered absent.
