The Programme Portfolio Overview (attachment) is the central institutional register of all QQI-validated programmes at NCI. It brings together programme information, validation/revalidation schedules, and annual monitoring into a single, comprehensive report. This overview replaces the former separate Revalidation Schedule and 5-Year Cycle Plan, ensuring that all programme lifecycle planning is aligned, transparent, and published in one place.

Programme Information Programmes are listed by School, with award codes, NFQ levels, credits, and current validation status.

Revalidation Schedule Extracted from the Portfolio Overview, this schedule shows programmes due for revalidation and upcoming QQI milestones (TOR submission, panel dates, PAEC review).

Annual Programme Monitoring (APM) Extract Each year, an APM extract from the Portfolio Overview identifies all programmes in scope for monitoring. This is approved by the Academic Programmes and Quality Committee (APQC) in May, with Programme Directors notified in July.

Multi-Year Planning The Portfolio Overview integrates long-term planning, providing visibility across multiple years for validation, revalidation, retirements, and new programme development.
Governance and Updates
The Programme Portfolio Overview is reviewed annually and approved by the Academic Programmes and Quality Committee (APQC). Continuous updates are made throughout the year to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and QQI timelines.
